Teen gang 'came to Cambridge to steal'
Teens stole a bike and valuables from a Mercedes and a BMW in Cambridge.
Cambridge Crown Court heard the gang took a £500 bicycle from outside Travelodge in Coleridge on July 25 last year.

Darren Hayward, 18, also of Barnard Road, and Askem were also charged with robbery and possession of an offensive weapon – a screwdriver – in Sawbridgeworth on October 13. Sheryl Nwosu, mitigating for Askem, said he now spends far more time with his family, other friends and girlfriend. Oliver Snodin, appearing for Darren Hayward, said an element of peer pressure had been involved. Representing John Hayward and Shillibeer, 20, of Compton Avenue, Luton, John Livingston said both had expressed remorse. Recorder John Foy QC said: “None of you lived in Cambridge and it’s apparent, I think, that you went into Cambridge in order to steal.”
He sentenced Darren Hayward to two-and-a-half years in a young offenders’ institution, Askem to 18 months and Shillibeer and John Hayward to nine months. The 17-year-old was given a 12-month youth rehabilitation order with a supervision requirement, a four-month curfew and 60 hours of unpaid work and also banned him from Cambridge for three months.
